[Sonos] Spotify randomly starts playing another song

We've received reports about the app interrupting the currently playing song and instead reverting to a previously queued / random one on Sonos devices.

 

This can usually be observed at night, where after several hours of playing the correct track (for example, nature sounds), the sync between the services is suddenly lost and another song starts playing.

I’m having this issue as well. My ex strangely enough had the issue too. Sometimes it will fast forward and skip songs too. Scary.

Here it's only when I start an album at the first song, right after the first song, the second one is replaced by the recommanded ones. If I start with the second song of the album no problem at all.

Frusciendrix it can't help me. On phone help take back few times but on the descop still have problem

Hey Spotify,

 

Explain this one to me:

 

I play a 12 hour ‘white noise’ track while I am sleeping. I connect to a google speaker through wifi to do this. I start the track from about two minutes in to skip past the advertisement. Everything is good. I CLOSE THE APP ON MY LHONE. 

 

2:00 AM: Spotify randomly decides to SKIP THE TRACK. The next track in the playlist (another 12 hour track) which also has a two/three minute advert for some audiobook. ITS 2 am AND I AM BEING YELLED AT BY THIS ADVERTISEMENT. 

 

I did NOT skip this track in my middle of my sleep, in fact the track may only be four hours into the 12 hour length. 

WHYYYYYYYYYYY!? I JUST WANT TO SLEEP!!!!!!!! 

I pay a premium price to not have advertisements and for this app to work. Yet it’s complete garbage. 

how do I fix this issue?!?!?!

Hey folks,

 

We just wanted to jump in and say we're seeing similar reports about other speakers as well, Google ones for example, and that this info has been passed on and it's being looked into by the right people.

 

In case you experience the same thing on other speakers and not just Sonos ones, do let us know and we'll make sure to forward it to the right team for further investigation.

I'm experiencing something very similar in the last few months and it happens A LOT.  Generally, I'm playing my audiobook on Spotify and suddenly Spotify randomly switches me to a random song.  I have to pause the song, go back to my audio book, and it happens over and over again within minutes.  And sometimes its on occasion. I'm experience it when I have my airbuds in and when I play Spotify via Apple CarPlay.  I've tried deleting the app, reinstalling the app, signing out of all devices, restarting my phone, etc.  Keeps happening.  Any advise??

this only happens to me when i try to listen to music on my computer (its an hp computer with windows 13). i play a playlist and it jumps a few songs ahead' than starts playing a random song. the song always stops playing after 9 seconds. no matter what the song is. if i try to skip the song it happens again and again. so frustrating.

This started happening a few days ago, i play a song and it switches the song to another until it stops and plays a completelly diferent song
